New Hangout Place at Kasba !
Well, coffee is definitely not my cup of tea! When in mad mood, a good cup of tea is all I need for making me feel better. Going through the Kasba area, I noticed a new cafe near Kasba Police Station. So I decided to hop in. In the middle of the busy city life, cafe strings provides you with the ambiance of countryside of a lazy evening.
The cafe is situated on the side and easily noticeable from the main street. Although the cafe is situated just near Kasba Police Station, the nearest landmark can be considered as Acropolis Mall.
The cafe is divided in three major section. Two outdoor section and one indoor section. One outdoor section is situated in front of the main road, while the other one is situated inside the cafe. The outdoor section inside has hand painted quirky walls, and ambiance of a typical baganbari. I visited the place twice and both the times, I have chose to sit in the outdoor section inside the cafe.
Chicken Cheese Omelette
This omelette was loaded with cheese and chicken bites. The fluffiness of the eggs and the creaminess of the cheese accompanied each other completely.
Grilled Chicken in Mushroom Sauce
Grilled Chicken in mushroom sauce was served with two chicken slab, mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables including bell pepper, baby corn and broccoli. The chicken were soft and juicy and the mushroom sauce was just “finger-licking-good”. Although the mashed potatoes lacked the creaminess and the vegetables were not grilled thoroughly.
Mango Mania is thick mango flavored milkshake, a little bit on the sweet side and topped with mango sauce.
Light golden color, second flush Darjeeling tea. I love the kettle shaped tea infuser.
Others from my second visit:
Panco Crushed Fish: Four pieces of Bhetki Fish, covered with panco crumbs and deep fried. A variation of classic fish and chips.
Mac & Cheese (with Chicken): Classic mac and cheese, with generous amount of chicken pieces and accompanied with garlic bread toasted to perfection.
Baked Chicken: From all the items, I must agree this was a big let down. Same sauce as in mac and cheese, has big chunks of mushroom rather than chicken. Served in the same casserole like mac n cheese and accompanied with garlic bread.
Food tasted great, quantity was less compared to the price. The service was significantly low. The cafe was totally empty, and it took them almost 30 minutes to make the omelette. Service needs significant improvement.
Food Quality: ★★★★☆
Value for money: ★★★☆☆
Must Try items (based on my opinion and items tasted):
